Intro
I’m the co-founder and CEO of Contastive Labs, where we’re building in the Physical AI space. Prior to this, I was the co-founder and CTO of Deep Render, where I led a team to build the world’s first AI video codec. Prior to Deep Render, I studied Machine Learning at Imperial College London and Aeronautical & Spacecraft Engineering at the University of Southampton. My interests lie in Machine Learning, Software Engineering, and Robotics.
Contrastive Labs and Physical AI [2026-Now]
I’m super excited about what the future of Physical AI looks like and thinking about how I can help shape it.
Deep Render and AI codecs [2018-2025]
I co-founded Deep Render in 2018 to reinvent video compression with AI. Over the last 6 years, we shipped the world’s first end-to-end AI codec. Along this journey, we built a world-class ML research and eng team, stood up a 200+ GPU data center, raised $15M from top-tier investors, secured and executed proofs-of-concept with hyperscalers, and filed 135+ patents.
ML research at Imperial College London [2016-2018]
Prior to Deep Render, I worked with Andrew Davison and Ronnie Clark from Dyson Robotics lab on self-driving technology such as Deep Visual Odometry, SLAM (simultaneous localisation and mapping) and Deep Camera Calibration. Additionally, I studied Machine learning at Imperial College London, specialising in a variety of generative machine learning models such as GANs, VAEs and Diffusion models while diving deep into theoretical topics such as Information Theory and Variational Inference.
Aeronautical & Spacecraft Engineering [2012-2016]
Prior to working on self-driving technology and SLAM, I studied Aeronautical & Spacecraft Engineering at the University of Southampton. I’ve always had a deep passion for space exploration and aerospace engineering (my childhood dream was to be an astronaut and the first person on Mars—maybe this can still be true). During my time at Southampton, I studied a variety of topics from jet propulsion and aerodynamics to control systems and space systems. I also spent time designing microlight aircraft on CAD systems, performing computational fluid dynamics simulations, and building and competing in robotics championships such as Eurobot.
